Former President George Bush Believes Russians Meddled In 2016 Election
The former President of the United State George W. Bush claimed that he believes that Russians meddled in the 2016 election. His claims contradict the Trump administration that adamantly denies Russian meddling. But Bush said, “there’s pretty clear evidence that the Russians meddled,” in the 2016 election.
His statements are part of a series of comments contradicting the position of the Trump administration in recent days. But he is worried about the results of Russian meddling in public confidence in the US, “Our democracy is only as good as people trust the results.” Trump has denied any possibility of collusion between his campaign and Putin.
But Bush said he knows how Putin operates internationally. Putin is “is pushing, constantly pushing, probing weaknesses,” said George W. Bush. That is why according to him “NATO is important.” Trump has already publicly challenged NATO arguing that the alliance relies too much on American aid.
