The Hill: Navy SEAL who says he killed bin Laden: ‘A military parade is third world bulls- --’
The former U.S. Navy SEAL who says he fired the shots that killed Osama bin Laden ripped President Trump's proposal for a military parade in the nation's capital.
The Navy SEAL who claims responsibility for Bin Laden’s death is adamantly against Trump’s wish for a military parade. In a tweet, the former SEAL said, “A military parade is third world bullshit.” The veteran then demanded that the media and the president, “stop this conversation.”
A military parade is third world bullshit. We prepare. We deter. We fight. Stop this conversation.

Trump asked for a military parade after witnessing the celebration for Bastille Day in France. His request has received tremendous opposition from Americans who feel the event would echo images of authoritarian leaders rather than celebrate America’s military. The Trump administration has disagreed saying it will be “a celebration at which all Americans can show their appreciation. There has not been a military parade in the US in over 30 years.
The Department of Defense has announced that they received the requests and are looking at details to organizing the event. Advisers have reportedly asked the president to reconsider but after much discussion, it has become clear that the military parade is a “presidential directive.”
